The above picture is a digital media art sample from one my favorite artist. Greg Martin is my favorite because I enjoy thinking about what different parts of the universe would look like from a more up close view. Through his art I am able to get a good idea of what different parts of space look like, and I believe that he is really the only digital artist I have seen who can truly show you how cool space is.
Some of the art he creates is done through taking multiple pictures of a given landscape and putting them together in Photoshop where he can enhance a certain part of the landscape that he likes. Below is a picture of this example.
In the above picture he uses a Canon SD800IS to take the pictures of this road.
I know this artist wasn't a part of the reading but I really enjoyed his work. I love his use of photography and photoshop. His appreciation for those who like to use his photos as wallpapers impressed me. The fact that he gave that as a free option alongside the option to buy prints was nice. Not only was it nice but it was also smart. It's more productive to do it that way rather than to put ugly watermarks all over your work and try to save it from the internet, which mostly seems counter-productive.
